BROWN JAMES WINFRED Age 72, was born on May 4, 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the son of the late Herman and Anna Margaret Ward. He passed peacefully on September 19, 2015, at his home. James was the loving and devoted father of four children, Michael Brown of Denver, CO, Jackinah Andrews (Sebastian) of Chesapeake, VA, Jaymes Brown (Veronica) of Philadelphia, PA, and Sgt. Jaren (Letitia) of Georgia. James was a giving, thoughtful and affectionate grandfather to three grandchildren, JaNeal Lavette, Michael Giles and Giovanni Brown. James is survived by sisters, Annette Somerford (Drew) of Hendersonville, NC and Marie Jackson (John) of Pittsburgh, PA; and brother, David Ward of Warner Robins, GA. James grew up in the Hill District where he graduated from Connolley Vocation School. He entered the Army and served his time there in the Signal Corps. He furthered his education and spent many years working for the Westinghouse Nuclear Center until they left the Pittsburgh area. James spent the last 11 years until retirement in the security division of Carnegie Mellon University. Services and interment private. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
