MERCER ELLEN P. Age 68, of Castle Shannon, formerly of Bridgeville, peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2015. Daughter of the late James R. and Magdalene P. Mercer; dear sister of Barbara Mercer Woodbury (Lowell) of Idaho and Sara A. Mercer of Pittsburgh; aunt of Sara Kim Woodbury and Emily Mee Hwa Woodbury; great-aunt of Anthony Vincent Scott . Ellen left a successful law practice of approximately 25 years to pursue her true passion, the study of history. Only her illness prevented her from completing her dissertation and her Ph.D. at the University of Pittsburgh. All are welcome to attend her Memorial Service in Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3319 West Liberty Avenue, on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends in the church's Wesley Hall following the service.
