MINTON KENNETH W., Sr. On Sunday, September 27, Kenny, age 61, of the North Side, after a long Heroic battle with cancer, Our True Hero, Guardian and Protector, went peacefully surrounded by his loving, but broken-hearted family. Kenny was the loving husband of Pam Minton, the proud Dad of Kenneth, Jr. (Julie), James (Brindie), Chad (Amanda), William (Michelle), Jacob (Liz), Raymond “RJ” (Deanna), Kevin (Ashley); the amazing grandfather of his 21 grandchildren, Amanda, Tommy, Rebekah, Kenny lll, Charlie, James, Giavonna, Alyssa, Chad “CJ”, Chase, Cassidy, Joshua, Mackenzie, Brayden, Anna, Peyton, Victoria, Mario, Gabriella, Achilles, Palmina Kenadee; and four great-grandchildren, Aubree, Jandy, Kaylee and Monte. The son of the late William and Florence Minton; brother of Gloria Jean Redshaw (late Sonny), Robert Redshaw (Paulette), Billy Minton Thornton (late Annie), Geraldine Tresky (Willie) and the late Chuckie Redshaw. A continued loving friend to Judy Buzzard. The loving uncle of many wonderful nieces and nephews. Kenny in his short lived life, has left a Legacy, not only in his seven wonderful sons, but he was a True Legend on the North Side, a second dad to so many, a coach for 20-plus years, a sponsor of many softball and little league teams, a mentor, a true community leader, 24 years as the 23rd ward Chairman and a true friend. He loved his community but first and foremost the people in it. Kenny worked as a Pennsylvania State Constable for 26 years, and worked out of our local magistrate office. He also worked 11 years for the City of Pittsburgh as an inspector in the Controller's Office, and four years staff member in City Council. Ken also worked in patient transport at AGH hospital. As a young man, he graduated in 1973 from Allegheny High School, enlisted and served PFC in the Army, returned home and began his family along with his legacy. Kenny was a wonderful man and was truly loved by many. He will surely be missed but never ever forgotten. Family and friends received at STEPHEN BRADY FUNERAL HOME, 920 Cedar Avenue.
