Son of the late John and Bertha Dibbler Mertz; beloved husband of Barbara Jordan Mertz; loving father of Debra (Bud) Woodhouse, Diane (John) Fenk, Donna (Robert) Ptaszkiewicz, Brian (Kim) Mertz and the late Bert (surviving Antoinette) Mertz. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren with one on the way; brother of John (the late Ann) Mertz, Paul (Alice) Mertz, Richard (Janet) Mertz and the late Bob (surviving Okja) Mertz, Edna Collins, Dorothy Collins and Kenny Mertz.
