WYMA BRUCE HARRIS Age 83, passed away peacefully in his home in Forest Hills on May 23, 2018. Bruce was born on September 25, 1934, in Sioux City, IA, to Harry Peter Wyma and Mildred L. (Harris) Wyma. Bruce received his bachelor of science degree from Iowa State University in chemical engineering through an NROTC scholarship that also prepared him for a lifetime of military service. Commissioned as a Naval Aviator, he flew on active duty for four years and then served as an active Naval Reservist from 1960 to 1988, retiring as a Captain. He came to Pittsburgh in 1960 as a chemical and sales development engineer for Alcoa, then moved into Corporate International Financial Management after receiving his MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh in 1967. He worked in financial investments beginning in 1970 with Hornblower & Weeks and continued with many other firms until his retirement from Morgan Stanley in 1988. Bruce enjoyed family, friends, gardening, golf, and anything fast. Bruce was the father of Kimberly Wyma Emert (William), Kari Wyma-Dominey (Lex), and the late Peter Bruce Wyma. He is also survived by his former wife, Anne Burnett Wyma; his sister, Judith Wyma Covey (Keith); nephews, Scot Covey (Kim) and Matthew Covey (Marla); great-nephew, Jasper Covey; grandchildren, Miles Wyma Dominey (Kayde), Lela Anne Dominey, Tess Swan Dominey, Sydney Anne Wyma; and two great-granddaughters, Zykai and Tavia. Bruce was preceded in death by his partner of 30 years, Patricia Mankel. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
