MECH ANN BERNADETTE (PHELAN) Of Gibsonia, died peacefully in her home on May 27, 2018, at the age of 91. She was surrounded by her loving family. Formerly of Chicago, Illinois, Ann was born on April 19, 1927. Previously resided in Mahwah, New Jersey. Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard S. Mech, Sr.; her loving parents, Thomas Francis Xavier Phelan and Anne B. Phelan (McGowan); and her siblings, James P. Phelan II, Thomas F. X. Phelan, Jr., Vincent J. Phelan, and Mary Jane Phelan; devoted mother to 12 children: Ann B. O'Connor (Hugh) (decd), James R. Mech, Theresa M. Mech, Richard S. Mech, Jr. (Kathleen), Eileen M. Mech (decd), Marilyn L. Broderick (John), Robert J. Mech (Lori), Patricia S. Hegel (Mark), Michael T. Mech (decd), Mary Ellen Ecker (Ray), William D. Mech and Daniel J. Mech; adoring grandmother to 20 grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren. Friends will be welcomed Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, 724-443-1505. Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Richard Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, PA.
