FUSIA RICHARD "POOCH", Jr. Passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, of Swissvale, age 72. He was the son of the late Richard, Sr. and Josephine Fusia. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Barbara (Coneybeer) Fusia; and his sister, Elaine Sheriff of Sarasota, FL. He will be greatly missed by his countless cousins, nieces, nephews and his vast group of great, great friends. Richard graduated from Swissvale High School in 1964 where he played football and played in several traveling bands. After becoming a highly decorated Vietnam War veteran, Rich returned to school and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from California University of Pennsylvania as well as an Associate Degree in Engineering from CCAC. Until his retirement, Rich was the Municipal Services Supervisor from Engeering District 11-0 for PennDot. He was the Program Administrator for the Liquid Fuels Funding Program and also worked on most local bridges and various other projects. Additionally he was the president of the N.A.P. Association. Everyone will remember Pooch for his generosity. He had a real passion for assisting younger generations whether it be financially or professionally. Pooch was also more interested to hear about "your" life instead of talking so much about his own. He had a way of making you feel as if you were the only person in a room full of people. One of his favorite pastimes was entertaining people with his hilarious sense of humor and eccentric stories. He forever kept a clever, wise, askewed look on life that would always light up anyone's day and bring a smile to their face. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. MONDAY ONLY at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7441 Washington St., Swissvale.
