
SPENGLER ROBERT G. Bob passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2015, surrounded by his family, after a long illness. He was 85. Bob was born in Newark, NJ on October 20, 1929, to George and Karen (Iversen) Spengler. After graduating from high school, Bob served his country during the Korean War. He returned home and attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology where he graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. After a long and successful career in banking, consulting and insurance, Bob and Claire retired to Dataw Island, SC where they spent more than 20 happy years. There Bob was able to enjoy two of his favorite pastimes, golf and spending time with friends. He liked to travel and found great pleasure in visiting his children and grandchildren during the holidays. Bob is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 62 years, Claire. In addition to his wife, Bob leaves his five devoted children, Bob Spengler (Mary) of Colton, NY, Eric Spengler (Lauren) of Cambridge, MA, Mark Spengler (Elizabeth) of Blue Springs, MO, Leslie Quinn (Matt) of Western Springs, IL and Jeff Spengler (Laurie) of McCandless, PA; as well as 13 grandchildren; and four great-granddaughters. He also leaves a brother, George, of Colorado Springs, CO. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 10:30 a.m., October 24, 2015, in St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church, Franklin Park, PA. Arrangements entrusted to H.P.
