HUGHES JOHN H. Age 91, of Whitehall, formerly of Brentwood, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015. Beloved husband of 65 years to the late Mary "Dottie" (Petrichek) Hughes; beloved father of Karen Keck and the late John "Mickey" Hughes; and beloved grandfather of Michelle (Darren) Cox; brother of Betty J. Faber and the late Russell J. Murray; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Johnny retired from the A&P Tea Company and Baldwin-Whitehall School District with almost 40 years of combined service. He was an usher at St. Wendelin Church for many, many years. He was a WWII veteran with four years of service spent mostly in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre of war, a recipient of five ribbons, five medals, and six bronze stars.
