HANULA ARDITH PATRICIA WEISS Age 78, of Waynesboro, VA, passed away at home, on Friday, October 30, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 25, 1937, in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Albert Otto Weiss and Elizabeth Carlin Weiss. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Albert Bud Weiss, Darryl Weiss, Giard Weiss, Gerald Weiss, Joan Sis Mooney, Eunice Ilgenfritz, DeSales Dee Heisler, and Elaine Eriksen. Ardith is survived by her husband of 58 years, Kenneth James Hanula, Sr.; three children, Kenneth Hanula, Jr. Cindy of Waynesboro, VA, Janice Archer of Keswick, VA and Patricia Abbott Michael of Salem, VA; and four grandchildren, Catherine Abbott, David Abbott, Christine Archer and Kevin Archer. Also surviving are five siblings, Charles Chee Weiss of Talmadge, OH and Henry Harry Weiss, Robert BobWeiss, Marlys Mar Schoedel and Noreen Thompson, all of Pittsburgh. Ardith was raised in Pittsburgh and graduated from South Side High School in 1955. She was a nurse's aide at St. Joseph's Hospital and married her loving husband Ken at St. George's Church on August 3, 1957. After moving to Waynesboro in 1960, Ardith became active in the community through volunteer work at St. John's Catholic Church, the American Cancer Society and Meals on Wheels. Her favorite pastimes were playing cards, taking Sunday rides and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. A Funeral Mass was held at St. John's Catholic Church in Waynesboro, VA on Thursday, November 5, 2015, followed by interment in Augusta Memorial Park. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
