KACZKA RICHARD C. Born October 8, 1929, in Glassport, PA, departed this world, on November 19, 2015, after living a very full life. Rich spent 25 years in the U.S. Air Force, serving during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After traveling the world in the Air Force and attaining the rank of Master Sergeant, he retired right back where he began in Glassport. He was the 12th of 14 children of Anthony and Antonette (Kumiega) Kaczka. He is survived by four of his siblings, Stephanie Edmundson of White Oak, PA, Mildred Prejean of Sulfur, LA, Stanley and his wife, Dorothy Kaska of Clairton, PA and John and his wife, Betty Kaczka of Glassport, PA. He was a lifelong member of Queen of the Rosary Church in Glassport. Rich was never married. Though he had no children of his own, he was an inspiring presence to his many nieces and nephews because of his generous kindness, jovial attitude and respectful wisdom. Rich followed politics with great interest, which he loved almost as much as doing his daily NYT crossword in pen. He was always quick to laugh and found real enjoyment in life in the little things. Funeral Mass to celebrate the brightness of Rich's life will be held on Monday, November 23, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of the Rosary Catholic Church in Glassport. Burial, with full military honors, will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to Viaquest Hospice Services, 610 Park Avenue, Monongahela, PA 15063. Funeral arrangements by WOJCIECHOWSKI FUNERAL HOME, Glassport. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
