HEWITT NORMAN Norman Hewitt, age 96, of Hampton Township, peacefully passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Ruth Oliver, he is survived by his children, Wayne (Carol) Hewitt of Lenexa, KS, Deborah (Donald) March of Allison Park, PA, Lance Hewitt of Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren, David, Richard and Stephen Hewitt, Laurel March, Travis Hewitt; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; foster son, William Watrous; and grandson, Gregory March. He graduated from Princeton University in 1941, and Polytechnic Institute in 1946. Norman moved his family from New York to Pittsburgh in 1963, to work for PPG until he retired at the age of 82. He was a prolific author of technical articles, as well as two books. He was a sought after expert of rubber technology, who traveled in Europe, South America and the Far East. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the North Hills, with Rev. Scott Rudolph officiating.
