
RANSIL Sr. MICHELE, CDP Age 88, of McCandless Township, died peacefully at UPMC Passavant Hospital on Sunday, July 26, 2015, after several weeks of illness. Sr. Michele (Mary Louise) was born October 26, 1926, in Pittsburgh, PA. The family were members of St. Norbert Parish in Overbrook. She entered the Sisters of Divine Providence on September 26, 1945. Throughout the next 70 years Sr. Michele faithfully and joyfully served God and others as a Principal, High School teacher, Librarian and editor. She taught in the Diocese of Pittsburgh at St. Mary's - Glenshaw (principal), St. Mary's High School in McKees Rocks and Sharpsburg; St. Martins High School in West End and Divine Providence Academy. She was the Librarian at Bryn Mawr, PA, and Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana for 17 years and served ten years at St. Vincent College in Latrobe as editor for Spirituality Publications. Sr. Michele had worked on a number of manuscripts and had gained a reputation for flawless editing. She received a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Arts from Duquesne University. She continued her studies at University of Pittsburgh obtaining a Master of Library Science. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond A. Ransil and Louise M. Berhalter Ransil; and two brothers, Bernard J. and R. Joseph. Sr. Michele is survived by her sisters, Sr. Dorothy, CDP, Alice, Janet Ransil Pack; and two brothers, Donald F. and Leonard J. Friends will be received at Providence Heights on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Wake Service at 7 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, from 12-3:30 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 4 p.m. in Divine Providence Chapel.
