WADOSKY DANIEL JOSEPH Born, December 7, 1951, died, November 13, 2015, from complications resulting from a logging accident. A well known character of Bend, Oregon, he passed away surrounded by friends. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Dan entered the Navy right after graduating from high school, saw service in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1972. He moved to Bend, Oregon in 1980, and worked as bookkeeper and tax consultant for many years. He also was an avid antique collector and dealer, who could be found haunting the yard sales of Central Oregon every Saturday. Dan was passionate for wild things: wild rivers, wild fish, cougars, bears and wolves. He championed many conservation efforts in Oregon over the past 35 years including The Oregon Rivers Initiative, Bear and Cougar Protection and various wild salmon and steelhead conservation efforts. Dan loved fly fishing and running the wild rivers of Oregon and the west. He was a ruthless cribbage player, a Harp Hall marcher and fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. A celebration of Dan's life will be held December 6, 2015, in Bend, Oregon. At his request, remembrances may be made to the Oregon Natural Desert Association. Dan is survived by his brother, Larry; and a daughter, Courtney who lives in Oregon. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
