KOPCZENSKI Sr. ROSAIRE, OSF On Monday, Dec. 14, 2015. Beloved daughter of the late Philip and Frances; loving sister of the late Raymond, Philip, Albert, Irene and Margaret. Sr. Rosaire ministered in the Dioceses of Pittsburgh, PA, Washington D.C., New York City and Detroit, MI for 62 years. For 17 years, Sister taught in elementary and secondary education in numerous Catholic Schools in Pittsburgh. After Sister received a Master of Fine Arts from Catholic University in 1971, she became campus minister at several colleges and universities. For 13 years, Sister ministered to provide housing and resources to low income single women. Sister also served in leadership for her sisters but her most compelling passion was in the field art and iconography which she had been honing for many years. The campus of Mt. Alvernia is adorned with many sculptures and art pieces shaped by her skilled hands. More recently, she offered classes to many in iconography. Her encouragement was that one did not have to be a artist to succeed in making an icon for it was so much more about and being patient. Through her instruction, students learned to create and even students with visual impairments created icons worthy of praise. Sr. Rosaire will be forever remembered for her desire to make all things beautiful. Visitation at the Mt. Alvernia Motherhouse Chapel, 146 Hawthorne Rd., Millvale, Thursday from 1 to 7 p.m., Friday from 9 until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis Ministry, Formation or Retirement Fund, 146 Hawthorne Rd., Pgh., PA 15209.
