JOSEPH ROY SOLLER Age 80, of Wexford, on Monday, April 6, 2020. Born February 4, 1940, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Louis and Rose Soller. He was known by many names, Pap at home, Joe at work, Roy in the neighborhood, and Mr. Man to every person who benefited from his ability to fix nearly everything for everyone. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 56 years, Theodora Teddy (Jankus) Soller; his sisters, Sr. Rosalyn Soller and Dolores Herda; and his sons, Roy (Mary Alice) Soller, Eric (Jennifer) Soller, and Christopher (Laura) Soller. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Haley, Katherine, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Anya and Matthew. Joseph, a proud North Side son, where he maintained friendships throughout his life, graduated from North Catholic High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963, after which he was honorably discharged. Post military, he worked for over 30 years as a magician elevator installer and repairman all over Pittsburgh and West Virginia. In addition to being a lifelong Steelers season-ticket holder, he loved youth sports and coached and umpired McCandless baseball for countless seasons and attended as many North Allegheny football games as he could. Due to the current health crisis, a public memorial celebration will be arranged at a later date. Arrangements by SCHELLHAAS & SONS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Franklin Park.
