CERCONE ANTHONY JOHN “CHICK” A lifelong resident of Stowe Township, passed away December 27, 2015, after succumbing to cancer at the age of 88. Anthony's varied career encompassed many jobs, including factory work and driving a taxi. He will be remembered fondly as an animated, happy person. He was a friend to many, always social and known for his generosity. He assisted family, friends and strangers alike. As an amateur boxer in his youth, he fought numerous matches, including shipboard while serving as a helmsman on the USS Princeton during WWII. Boxing remained a lifelong passion. He regularly attended matches and possessed an encyclopedic recall of statistics. The son of the late Anthony Cercone and the late Catherine Ranalli, Anthony is survived by son, James "Jimmy" of McKees Rocks; and daughters, Sandra Burnis-Holly of McLean, VA and Amy Burnis of Boston, MA. He was predeceased by sons, Edgar and Richard "Skip." He is also survived by sister, Catherine "Cathy" Parks of Las Vegas, NV; and predeceased by brother, Nicholas “Nick”; and sisters, Helen Arnold, Raffaella "Rae" Macik and Angeline "Angie" Caiaccia. His descendants include nine grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren. Divorced, his former wives include Belle Diaz and the late Joan Schultz. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral service. His family, however, will celebrate his life on January 9, 2016. Arrangements trusted to D'ALESSANDRO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY LTD.
