HUCKO PEARL M. (ROMANYSHYN) On Saturday, February 13, 2016, Pearl M. passed away peacefully, at the age of 92. Married for 63 years to the late John P. Hucko, she was the beloved mother of Sandy (Dwight) Lewis and Dan (Deena) Hucko; cherished grandmother of Dara, Blake and Connor Lewis, and Simon and Timothy Hucko; great- grandmother to Kathleen Anna Hucko; and sister to Eleanor Powers. The family invites friends to come celebrate her life at a memorial service at the Ken Mawr United Presbyterian Church, 1760 Pine Hollow Road, McKees Rocks, PA 15136 on WEDNESDAY at 11:00 a.m. Born in West Park in 1923, she never left the area except for a brief stint at Indiana State Teachers College. Pearl was a natural teacher who influenced the lives of thousands of students during her 40-plus year career at Sto-Rox. She loved music, art and nature, and served as the choir director and organist at the McKees Rocks Methodist Church, was an active member of the Kennedy Township Garden Club, and created many beautiful watercolor renderings of plants, flowers and landscapes. She had great inner strength, perhaps forged in the Great Depression and tempered by the events during World War II. We will miss her optimism for life, and will always remember and be inspired by her resilience. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ken Mawr United Presbyterian Church. Arrangements entrusted to HERSHBERGER - STOVER, INC. FUNERAL HOME, Crafton. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
