MEDVED HELEN J. Age 89, of Clairton, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016, in John J. Kane Regional Center in McKeesport. Born July 18, 1926, in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Carr) Chaputa. A retired waitress and cook for US Steel Clairton Works' Superintendent Dining Room, Helen was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish and the CFU Lodge #248, both in Clairton. She joins her husband, the late George Medved, who passed away in June of 1990. Helen is survived by her son, George (Lois Diana) Medved of Shadyside; her step-grandchildren, Anthony (Kathleen) and James Mollise; her step-great-grandchildren, Anthony, Jr. and Jeremy; her sister, Mary Kraynak of Glassport, and also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the A.J. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 555 5th St., Clairton, PA 15025 (412-233-5700) on Sunday, February 21, 2016, from 1 to 5 p.m. A Blessing will be held in the funeral home on Monday, February 22, 2016, at 10 a.m. with procession and burial to follow in Ascension Cemetery, Clairton.
