CVETAS ALBINA BEA Passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016. Bea was born on November 26, 1926, to Mary Dekleva and Joseph Butkovec in Pittsburgh. Warm weather and family brought Bea and her late husband, Joseph Cvetas, to Florida in 1995 where they resided in North Palm Beach and Jupiter. In her younger years, Bea was an excellent student and always had a talent for writing. She spent the majority of her career working for the Shaler Area School District in PA. Bea took great pride in her Slovenian heritage and was an active member of the Slovene National Benefit Society, SNPJ. She spent her summers with her beloved "Big Joe" at the SNPJ Recreation Center. She often referred to it as "God's Country" and it held a special place in her heart. Bea was very compassionate, loved to polka and enjoyed a good hearty laugh! Her family was her pride and joy and she never missed an opportunity to share how fortunate and blessed she was to have so many loving people in her life. Bea is survived by her two sons, David Cvetas and his wife, Jeanne Anne, of Florida and Joseph Cvetas and his wife, Jennifer, of California; four grandchildren, Marty Cvetas (Mary Frances), Sarah McLendon (Tony), Jessica Cvetas and Jared Cvetas; three great-grandchildren, Martin and Warren Cvetas and Keegan McLendon. Bea will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and many loving friends. A life celebration will be held at the SNPJ Recreation Center at a later date. The family has suggested that in honoring her memory, donations may be sent to The Slovene Radio Hour, 381 F Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15209. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
