FISHER Sr. JANE OSF On Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Daughter of the late Thomas R. and Helen M. (Finley) Fisher; sister of Georgie Staub. Sister Jane Fisher served 49 years in the Diocese of Pittsburgh in a variety of positions in the fields of education and spiritual care. For 20 years, Sister was a high school teacher of religion and counselor. Sister served as Director of St. Francis Preparatory School from 1963-1966. Using her organization and planning skills chair of a steering committee for her community and information/referral worker for St. Joseph Parish in Bloomfield. Sister spent the remainder of her active life in ministry in spiritual care in house of prayer ministry and director of Pastoral Care at St. Francis Hospital in New Castle. Sister became known for her compassionate care to the sick and vulnerable in our society. In the spirit of St. Francis, she communicated her deep interest in the life of each person she met. Visitation at the MT. ALVERNIA MOTHERHOUSE CHAPEL, 146 Hawthorne Rd., Millvale, Friday 2 p.m. until the time of a wake service at 6:15 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Professional Services Entrusted to the Care of D'ALESSANDRO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, LTD.
