VITUNIC MARGARET MARGE (HOHMAN) FLEMING Age 95, of Gibsonia, departed this life on Monday, August 3, 2015. Loving mother to Joseph S. Vitunic of Penn Hills, to Steven M. Vitunic of Gibsonia, to Steven's partner in life, Michael Montgomery, and to Erik Cornell; she is survived by two sisters-in-law, Elsie Vitunic and Virginia Whitman; and by her cherished cousin, Sr. Mary Frances Lutty, HSSJ, of Springfield, IL; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Marge was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Joseph M. Vitunic; and by her beloved daughter, Doreen, who entered eternal life 36 years ago. During WWII Marge was married to Cpl. Joseph B. Flemming, USMC who died in the service of our country during the invasion of Iwo Jima in 1945. Her parents were the late Joseph A. Hohman and Dorothy (Fichter) Hohman, both of Troy Hill, and Marge treasured her roots in that tightly knit German community. The happiest days of Marge's life were those spent raising her children and pets, keeping house and garden. She was a devoted Roman Catholic and Democrat, loved a good ham dinner, was quick to laugh, and was never heard to complain, even in adversity. As the decades of her long life wore on, she welcomed dozens of treasured friends into her life, many of whom survive to bear testament to her love, fortitude, and faith. A Mass in her memory will be celebrated on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Victor's Roman Catholic Church in Bairdford, PA 15006. In lieu of memorial flowers we ask for donations to the Volunteer Animal Rescue Group Animal Advocates, 35 Wabash St., P.O. Box 8480, Pittsburgh, PA 15220. (www.animal advocates.net) or to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, 800 Waterfront Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15222 (www.waterlandlife.org). Immediately following the Mass the family invites you to join them for a celebration of Marge's life at Narcisi Winery. Arrangements entrusted to the HUGHES FUNERAL HOME, INC., Troy Hill, 412-231-4193. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
