PRIBANIC JOHN EDWARD JACK Son of John and Anna Pribanic. July 12, 1933 - July 14, 2015. Born in McKeesport, PA, Jack moved his family from McKeesport to Sandusky, OH in 1976 to begin life anew - he slipped quietly away from that life while he slept on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. He had just turned 82. Custom and practice dictate that a list of Jack's accomplishments should follow, and indeed, he had accomplishments. By the end of his life he had been an Air Force veteran, an air traffic controller, the mayor of McKeesport, PA, and an entrepreneur. And that is one way to measure a man's existence on this earth. Yet another way to measure a life, though, is to look at what is left behind - legacy. Some leave fortune, and some leave enterprise. Jack left family. His family was his fortune. His family was his enterprise. A perusal of photographs taken of him during his life reveals that he never smiled so wide and so bright as when his family surrounded him. Family was the accomplishment of which Jack was most proud, and he would never miss an opportunity to celebrate that accomplishment - he told his friends; he told his acquaintances; he told anyone who would listen. When it came to his family, if you listened to him, there was something singularly marvelous about each and every one of his lines. The father of 11 children, his daughter, Meredith, and sons, Victor, Michael, Jonathon, David, Jeffrey, Adam, Christopher, Sean, Daniel, and Ernest all mourn his passing. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren - each of whom knew the love of their grandfather. In his later years, except when he was out with a group of close friends he called his Friday night friends, he was a devoted historian, voracious reader, sports fan, illustrious member of the Sandusky community, and occasional resident of Martha's Vineyard. He enjoyed discussing recently read historical works with his sons, watching his grandchildren play in the waters of Lake Erie in front of his home, and emitting his telltale chuckle at well-acted movies while smoking a fine cigar.
