PERGAR ANDREW MICHAEL Age 36, of New Fairfield, CT, formerly of Moon Twp., passed peacefully from this life on August 12, 2015, from complications due to cancer. Andy was a graduate of Moon Area High School and the Professional Golf Management Program/Penn State University. He began his love of the golf profession as a caddie/golf shop attendant at Allegheny CC. He spent the last 12 years as a golf pro at the Whippoorwill Club in Armonk, NY. Andy is survived by his loving parents, Michael and Barbara Pergar, North Huntingdon, PA; the love of his life, wife, Amanda (Beja) Pergar; and his cherished twins, Jeremy Andrew and Madelyn Grace Pergar. Also left to treasure his memory are his brother, Neil (Stacey) Pergar; grandmother, Mary Pergar, and grandmother, Rose Marie Peters. Andy will be remembered for his zest for life, his competitive spirit, and his tenacity in the face of challenges. Even though he had battled cancer beginning at age 13, he never let cancer define him. He was thankful for having been a Make- A-Wish child and was proud to "give back" when he organized and spoke at events for Make-A-Wish. A celebration of Andy's life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 11 a.m., The Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, 1570 Clay Pike, Irwin, PA.
