MARTIN Dr. JOHN B. II, MD Age 69, of Brownsville, PA, passed away August 20, 2015, with his loving family and friends at his side, at Ruby Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 6, 1946, the son of John B. Martin, Sr. and Nancy (Bliss) Martin. He graduated from Beth Center High School, Class of 1964, Harvard University with a BS in Bio Chemistry and University of Pittsburgh Medical School, Class of 1972 with an MD specialty in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. He was Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Board Certified in Geriatrics Medicine and employed at Centerville Clinic and previously employed at Brownsville Hospital and Mon Valley General Hospital. John was a member of the First Methodist Church, Fredericktown, PA. A member of the American Medical Association, Nemacolin Country Club, National Merit Scholar, Boy Scouts of America, Eagle Scout and a Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow for honored campers. In his youth he was an avid swimmer and sports expert. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins fan. He loved to read and had an extensive library. He also enjoyed sports cars, especially the Chevy Corvettes. He loved to travel, in the United States and Europe. His favorite place was Hawaii. John was a great humanitarian and loved spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Virginia L. (Balaban) Martin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin and Willa (Carney) Balaban. Left to cherish his memory is his precious daughter, Alexa Martin; sister, Pamela Martin of Buckhannon, WV; sister-in-law, Twyla Balaban of Masontown, PA; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. FUNERAL HOME, 7 River Avenue, Masontown, PA, Sunday, August 23, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation continues Monday, at the Masontown Brethren Church, 110 West Church Ave., Masontown, PA from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. the hour of service with Rev.
