SALOPEK JOHN F. Of Ambridge, died peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2015, at age 93. He is survived by his daughter, Laurie of Economy Boro; and was the devoted husband of 58 years to the late Henrietta M. (Zierenberg) Salopek. John was born and raised in Ambridge, PA, the eldest son of Mildred (Turkalj) and Steven Salopek. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Steven and Matthew. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Ruth and Nancy; along with several nieces and nephews. John retired from the US Army as a CW2 in 1976 after 32 years of service. He served proudly in World War II, Korea and Vietnam as an electronics and communications specialist. His career took him to the far east, as well as Germany and Texas.
