CARNEVALI RAYMOND “RAY”, Sr. Age 85, of Moon Township, formerly of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015. He was born in Marsteller, PA on July 28, 1930, to coal mining immigrant parents, the late Pietro and Susanna (Perticari) Carnevali. On Dec. 31, 2005, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Lou (Ball) Carnevali. Loving father of René Carnevali, with whom he made his home in Imperial, Michele Carnevali Villella of Neville Island, Raymond J. Carnevali, Jr. (Linda) of McDonald and Andrea Ward of Moon Township; cherished grandfather of Marc Fredericks (Kristie), Tara Palsha Moats (Scott), Michael Fredericks, Jason Palsha (Michelle), Chelsea Villella, Parker Ward and Lauren Ward Markin (Gene); proud great- grandfather of Maiyah, Nia, Michaela, and Nicco Fredericks; brother of twin sisters, Velma Costanzo of Johnstown, Velsie Zanzuccki (Albert) of Ebensberg, and the late Joseph, Valentina, Domenick “Gus” and Hugo Carnevali. Ray, in the car business most of his life, lived the American dream, owning two businesses, Airport Pontiac Toyota in Moon 1978-1990 and Ray Carnevali Dodge in Pittsburgh 1991-1995. He was President of the Greater Pittsburgh Pontiac Dealers Association, was a founding member of Airport Runway Advertising Association, on the board of directors for the Pittsburgh Opera, and a member of St. Margaret Mary Church. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and played trumpet in the Marine Corps Band. He and his wife loved to dance, loved music, lit up a room, and traveled all over the world. ”Larger than life”, he will be remembered as champion of the underdog and a motivator who had a great sense of humor. Visitation Tuesday Sept. 8, 2015, 2-4, 6-9 p.m. at COPELAND'S MOON TOWNSHIP, 981 Brodhead Rd., where Prayers will be recited on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church. Officiating will be Father Frank Kurimsky. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors.
