VRANICH MARY FRANCES "BABE" Died peacefully on Saturday evening, February 23, 2019 at her home in Wexford, PA where she and her husband, Marko Vranich Jr., raised their ?ve children and hosted many wonderful Christmas Eve and family gatherings. Mary was the youngest of eight children born to Anton and Anna (Truban) Stefanich on May 15, 1927 in Campbell, OH. She graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 1945 and then attended St. John's General Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, where she graduated on March 12, 1948. While in nursing school she was swept off of her feet by her husband of almost 70 years, Marko Vranich Jr., age 99, whom she married on July 2, 1949 at Sts. Peter and Paul Croatian Catholic Church in Youngstown, Ohio. Mary was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, gardener and career woman. She worked throughout her life as a Registered Nurse in many different capacities and retired as a Regional Nursing Home Inspector for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania . She was very proud of her nursing career and talked of it often. Mary's memory will be cherished by her husband, Marko; her sons, Marko Vranich III of Wexford, John Vranich (Valerie) of Gibsonia; and daughters, Anita Uzonyi of West View, Kathleen (Daniel) Suchy of Moon Township, and Julie (Dr. John) Waltz of Boise, ID; and ten grandchildren, Andrew (Katheryn) Uzonyi, Anton Uzonyi, Angela Vranich (?ance Ben Lewis), Nicholas Vranich, Lauren, Danielle, and Ryan Suchy, and Tatiana, Alexis and Stefan Waltz; and two great- grandchildren, Luca and Geno Uzonyi. During his Navy career, he volunteered as a sea diver. His devotion to the military extended to nearly consistent attendants at the USS Calvert reunions and greater than 25 years of volunteering at the VA ceramics department. He collected thousands of dollars for the VA by collecting aluminum cans for more than 25 years. His life of service included, volunteering with St. Michael's Church and Passion Play, St. Paul of the Cross Monestary and by helping everyone he encountered. (Amy); and adoring Grandma Patty to Emma, Paul, Jack, Lizzie, Joe, and Tess. Pat was the daughter of the late Paul and Emma Sweeney. She was preceded in death by siblings, Warren Sweeney, Dorothy Sweeney and Joanne Lundell; and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Glen?eld, Pat graduated from Sewickley High School in 1960. Pat met Tom at a young adult event at St. James Church in Sewickley and after their courtship they enjoyed 43 years of marriage. Pat considered her devoted sons, Tom and Mike, to be two of her greatest accomplishments and cherished her grandchildren, who were the joys of her later years. For more than 30 years, Pat served as the librarian of St. James School in Sewickley, a vocation perfectly suited to her as she was a devout Catholic, an avid reader and loved children. Pat lived her faith, treasured her family and enjoyed her friends, especially Pat King, who was her close friend through life's ups and downs. BESONG DAVID ALLEN "DADO" Age 65, of McKees Rocks, gave so much of himself to others until there was no more to give. Dado lost his battle with cancer on February 25, 2019 and has joined his mother and loved ones in heaven. He is now free of pain and driving his Corvette on country roads. Kozesky, Jr., and Ann F. (Frank) Fitz; sister- in-law of Diane C. (John) Schoenstein, Walter R. (Debbie) Husar, Robert L. (Celeste) Husar, Daniel P. Husar, and Carol A. Robertson; also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas J. and Martha F.
