HICKMAN DAVID FREDERICK Age 71, of Sterling, VA, surrounded by family and friends, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016. Born in Pittsburgh, PA to Wilson and Millicent Hickman. David is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Lynn; their daughter, Fantasia; ex-wife, Leola, their daughter, Christine, and sons, Bryan and Jonathan; sister, Rhoda of Pittsburgh, PA; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Ashley of Falls Church, VA; and many more extended family members around the country. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Lee Hickman. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and spent part of his service in SE Asia during the Vietnam War. Dave is well known all over Northern VA as the President of Dave's Heating and Air Conditioning in Sterling, VA, one of the longest running HVAC companies in the area. SORACCO WILLIAM E. Age 91, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Born July 11, 1924, in McKees Rocks, son of the late James and Mary (Cecero) Soracco. Beloved husband for 42 years to the late Jane M. (Stenger) Soracco. Bill was a veteran of the army serving during WWII. He is survived by sons, Jimmy and Billy; sister, Pat; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Mike, Hank and Jim; and sisters, Virginia and Mary. There will be no visitation. PIKE JACK F. Age 68, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at his home in Winter Haven, FL. Jack was born in Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Quakertown, PA in the early 1980s. Jack will be most remembered for the time he spent at the family's farm, Falling Willows. Jack and his wife, Shirley, raised two children, Kelly and Doug, at the farm. Jack enjoyed horseback riding with his daughter and fixing farm equipment with his son. He will be remembered by his family as a wonderful father. Jack is survived by his three sisters, Barbara, Joyce and his twin sister, Jean; as well as his two children, Doug and Kelly. Jack was cremated at OTT - LAUGHLIN FUNERAL HOME in Winter Haven, FL. SHAARA HELEN ELIZABETH KRUMWIEDE Age 88, of Tallahassee, passed away on June 4, 2016, after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of Howard and Elizabeth Krumwiede of Highland Park, NJ. Born in New York City, Helen grew up in New Jersey, and graduated from Douglass College (now part of Rutgers University). She and her family moved to Florida in 1955, settling first in Inverness, then moving to Tallahassee. Helen spent 37 years as a social worker and supervisor for the Florida Department of Health and Human Services, retiring in 1993. She has since served as a volunteer for the Leon County Public Library, among other charitable works. She was predeceased by her husband, Pulitzer Prize winning author, Michael Shaara. Helen is survived by her sister, Jean K. Boek, of Washington, DC; son, Jeff Shaara, his wife, Stephanie; and granddaughter, Emma, of Gettysburg, PA; daughter, Lila E. Shaara and her husband, Rob Rayshich; and grandsons, Fred Rayshich and Max Rayshich of Pittsburgh, PA. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., June 25, 2016, in Culley's Meadowood Memorial Park at 700 Timberlane Road. He is survived by his sisters, Ilene Stein and Shirl Unatin; his sons, Bradley Stein (Allison) and Todd Stein (Lisa); his daughter, Stacey Stein; and five grandchildren, Rachel, Devon, Dylan, Pema and Aidan. A resident of Scottsdale for the last 25 years, he loved his family, his Pittsburgh sports teams, a slice of Mineo's or a good Ketel One with friends. He was a kind gentleman who will be missed by all fortunate enough to have known him. Beloved wife of the late Munro “Jack” Grant; loving mother of “Katy” Grant of Mount Lebanon; sister of Robert “Bob” Walkowiak (Michele) of New Orleans and Nancy Walkowiak of North Carolina; aunt of Gordon Walkowiak. Marcia did her undergraduate studies at Allegheny College and earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh. She was technical writer with Mellon Bank for 12 years. Marcia was very active with the Democratic Committee and the Denis Theatre Foundation. She participated in a film class in Mt. Lebanon, was a member of two book clubs and an avid theater supporter. Marcia truly loved her cats and traveling. Friends will be welcomed at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL,222 Washington Road, Mt.
