THIEL WILLIAM PAUL William Paul Thiel; a hard-working man, tireless craftsman, and builder of both dreams and homes, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017, surrounded by family in the Gibsonia home that he built in 1974. It was both a place to raise three children and also soft place to land during the last days of a life well lived. After a courageous battle with cancer, Bill passed away at the age of 82. Over the years, he was lovingly and playfully referred to as Honey Bunch by his faithful and lifelong love, Jessie. He was a lover of palm trees and ocean breeze of the sunshine state, he was a coin collector with sense, he believed that old jeeps never die - they get rebuilt, and always made time for the things that he and his wife, Jessie, enjoyed, such as gardening. Bill also enjoyed a good game of cards, believing that it's not about the cards you've been dealt, but it's how hard you play your hand. Above all, he loved making memories with his family, who have come to understand that when someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. Bill will forever be missed by his wife of 59 years, Jessie Thiel; three children, Michele Thiel-Hrydil (husband, Perry Hrydil) of Gibsonia, Michael Thiel (wife, Trish Thiel) of Shaler and Teresa Thiel-Kohut (husband, John Kohut) of Butler. Bill will also be dearly remembered by his seven grandchildren, Luke, Steven, Jennifer, Danielle, Sarah, Peter and Matthew; five great- grandchildren, Eli, Jax, William, Felicity, and Anna. Also, several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Katherine Thiel; and brothers, Henry and Robert Thiel.
