SCHULTE MARILYN (MCINTYRE) Age 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 22, 2018. She was surrounded by love with her family by her side. Marilyn was born in Oregon, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Harry L. and Violet Mcintyre. Marilyn attended Columbia College and graduated from University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in education. She taught school and loved nurturing the children. In 1959, she married the love of her life William D. Schulte. Marilyn and Bill were both from Oregon, Missouri and always felt a strong connection to this wonderful small town. Marilyn was able to call many places home. She began raising her family in Kansas City. From there the family lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin followed by 40 wonderful years in Los Angeles. Marilyn and Bill recently moved to Pittsburgh to be closer to their much-loved family. Marilyn devoted her life to supporting her husband and raising her three children. They were her passion and delight. She was thrilled to be the grandmother of nine wonderful grandchildren. Numerous fun-filled Christmas and Thanksgiving holiday family gatherings were shared at the family home in Los Angeles. The family numbered 17 including the out of town siblings, spouses, children and grandchildren who all gathered in their Los Angeles home for one big holiday sleepover. Family game time was always going from Monopoly, gin rummy, rummy 500 and dominos just to name a few. Many summer vacations were spent at Grandma and Granddad's home in Los Angeles where the grandchildren played with joy and laughter in the pool and had many memorable trips to the beautiful sunny Southern California beaches. Marilyn generously gave of her time and energy through many programs her children were involved in as well as philanthropic organizations. She served as President of Marlborough School Parents Association. She was also on the Board of Directors of ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists). Marilyn always sought active roles in her children's lives such as Room Mom and Girl Scout leader, all while providing tireless support for her husband in his career. Marilyn also loved gardening and cooking. In Los Angeles, she cared for her beautiful rose garden with passion. Any visiting friend or family member was greeted with a fresh cut rose in their room. Marilyn was the beloved wife of 59 years to William D. Schulte; loving mother of Lynn Eckert (Chris) of Fairfield, CT, Jim Schulte (Pam) of Salt Lake City, UT and Sarah Woodings (Rob) of Pittsburgh, PA; cherished grandmother of Ryan Eckert, Cooper Eckert, Campbell Eckert, Kate Schulte, Will Schulte, Olivia Schulte, Robby Woodings, Chris Woodings and Jenny Woodings; sister of Kay Simpson (Robert) of St. Joseph, Missouri and Mason McIntire (Judy) of Mound City, Missouri; sister-in-law of Ann McIntire (late Tom) of Overland Park, Kansas. There will be a private memorial at a later date in Oregon, Missouri. GOODRICH MARY (GUIALINELLI) Age 79, from Braddock, PA, and Cranberry, PA, beloved wife of the late Tom Goodrich, entered into rest and into Eternal Life on Friday, June 1, 2018, 11 days short of her 80th birthday at her residence Juniper Village, in Forest Hills, PA. Mary loved baking and being in the kitchen. Her special talents brought much pleasure to friends and family alike. Mary was well known for her celebrated cookies and cakes. Everyone who knew Mary always looked forward to her legendary Christmas cookies. She will be long remembered by her family as the World's Best Baker and most esteemed Cook. Mary was the loving mother of David (Colleen) Seigfreid; proud grandmother of Michael (Rosetta) Coco, Caitlin (Chris) Chaimberlain, and Colin Seigfreid; and great-grandchildren, Coleman, Casey and Lydia; cherished sister of Joe (Chookie) Giulianelli and Dolores "Dolly" (Gilbert) Giulianelli-Wynrib. She is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard, Albert (Beto), Domenic, and Mario Giulieneili. Friends welcome on Monday, June 4, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. at PATRICK T. JOLLY BETTY Age 87, of O'Hara Twp., passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at The Willows in Oakmont. Betty was the eldest child of the late Olaf and Else Christensen. She was born on June 9, 1930, in Orange, NJ, and lived in Maplewood and Clifton, NJ. She graduated from Russell Sage College in 1952. Shortly after graduation, she married Thomas D. Jolly. They were separated during their first year of marriage while Tom served as a combat engineer in the Korean War. When he returned, they moved to Massena, NY. Their son, Thomas Alan, and their first daughter, Susan Elizabeth, were born there. They next moved to New Kensington, PA, where Lynn Ellen was born. After additional moves with ALCOA to Evansville, IN, and Maryville, TN, their family moved to O'Hara Township where they have resided since 1972. As a result of time spent in these various locations, Betty leaves many friends not only in Pittsburgh but in communities around the country. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Betty had a leadership role in many civic activities. While in Massena, Betty organized the initial nursery school at the Congregational Church. In Tennessee she was president of the Newcomers Club. In Pittsburgh, she has been president of her PEO chapter, a Girl Scout leader as well as vice president of their Board in Allegheny County. She and a friend also worked tirelessly to organize a state wide organization called ORA (Organization to Reform Act 195). Their efforts made a significant contribution to the legislation which ultimately led to the reduction in school closures due to teacher strikes in Pennsylvania. Betty's principal hobbies were cooking, bridge, and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Allan. She is survived by a brother, Lee (Doree) Christensen; her husband, Thomas D. Jolly; her son, Thomas Alan (Jessica) Jolly of Hillsdale, NJ; two daughters, Susan (Dan) Wilhoit of Aspinwall, and Lynn (Bill) Seybolt of Atlanta; as well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. No Visitation. A memorial service to celebrate Betty's life will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, 384 Fox Chapel Road. The Jolly family would like to extend their grateful thanks to the caring staff at The Willows as well as the support from her friends and the Presbyterian community. LAZZARA MARY ANN (BARTONY) Age 98, died peacefully on June 2, 2018 at the Amber Woods Personal Care Home in Cheswick, PA where she was a resident for the past 12 years. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Lucia (Bevilacqua) Bartony. Mary was born in Apollo, PA and raised in Cadogan, PA. She had a sister, Mayme and three brothers, James, William and Henry who predeceased her. She was married to Philip (deceased) for 64 years, and the majority of those years were spent at the family home in the Spring Hill section of Pittsburgh. Her three children are Diane (deceased), Philip Jr. (deceased, wife Joyce), and Daniel. She has five grandchildren, Anne (deceased), Jeremy (Yukiko), David (Kelly), Robin (Chris) and Adrian (James). She is survived by three great-grandchildren, Grace, Christian and Findley. Mary and her husband were the proprietors of Mary Ann's Bakery and Ice Cream store on the North Side of Pittsburgh during the last half of the 1940's. She then had a career with Sears Roebuck Co. and retired as a manager approximately 35 years ago. DUNLAP DAVID S., Sr. On the afternoon of June 2, 2018, David passed away unexpectedly of natural causes, in the home that he shared with his wife, Cathy (Zinkand) of 43 years. He was 72. David, known by most as Dave, was born in Pittsburgh on March 30, 1946. David led a full and joyful life. He enjoyed playing cards and belonged to a local poker club for over 40 years. He was an avid reader and it was rare to find him without a book in progress. He celebrated his Scottish heritage, especially by having a good scotch. Dave was an avid movie buff. In his spare time he also enjoyed target shooting and he even managed to master the internet enough to look at pictures of his grandkids and play poker online, proving that you can in fact teach an old dog new tricks when properly motivated. More than anything though, he loved his family and friends. David is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Dunlap; his sister, Lyle Samuel; his two children, Megan (Sean) Jarrett and David Dunlap, Jr.; his two grandchildren, Ellie and Jack Jarrett; his two sisters-in-law, Janet Sharp (Ken) and Nancy Turkovich (Al); eight nieces and nephews and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Trautvetter and the late Ida Fischer Trautvetter. Husband of the late Helen Patuc Trautvetter. Father of Dennis (Lois) of Evanston, IL, Jill A. and Jay H. of Pittsburgh. Grandfather of Rachel, Paula and Caleb, all of Evanston, IL. Brother of the late Ralph G. Trautvetter. Harry graduated from California State Teacher's College and received his master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Education. He taught wood and metal working and mechanical drawing at Millvale, Carrick and Perry High Schools for 39 years. His hobbies included wood and metal working, gardening and canning. GOLDSTROM GEORGE M. Age 73 of Scott Twp on Monday, June 4, 2018. Beloved husband of Donna (Miller) Goldstrom; dear father of Kristen Schram, Lauren Trimbur and Michael (Carrie) Goldstrom; loving grandfather of Ronny, Taylor, Connor, Jacob, Daniel, Michael, Katelyn, Morgan, Jared, Katelyn and Taylor; brother Karen (late Harvey) Ulijohn; uncle of Dawn (Dirk) Jensen. George retired after 30+ years with US Steel. He was a girls softball coach for many years in Scott Twp., loved to play golf, enjoyed life and spending time with his family and friends.
