WILLIAM HUGH ROBERSON, SR. William Hugh Roberson, Sr. was born March 8, 1942, to parents, Charles Porterfield Roberson and Elizabeth Elmira Burley Roberson. William graduated from Westinghouse High School in January 1960. In September 1964, he married his high school sweetheart, Janice Peyton. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1966, and served in the Vietnam War, earning the rank of sergeant and being awarded a Bronze Star, Purple Heart and US Army accommodation medal. He enjoyed a career as a computer programmer, working at Mellon Bank until 1987, then the Pittsburgh Housing Authority until his retirement in January 1999. William departed this life April 4, 2020. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Janice Peyton Roberson; two children, Stephanie Roberson and William Roberson (Kia); five grandchildren, Alexandria Taylor, Erin Roberson, William Hugh Roberson III, Noah Roberson and Bryce Roberson; four brothers, Charles Edwin Roberson of Chicago, IL, Ronald Roberson (Betty) of Danbury, CT, Harrison Roberson of Victorville, CA and Kenneth Roberson of Pittsburgh, PA as well as a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 10, 2020, at 11 a.m. at SPRIGGS & WATSON FUNERAL HOME.
