EDWARD C. STEINHAUSER AGE 90, ...

EDWARD C. STEINHAUSER Age 90, died Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at Good Samaritan Hospice following an illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice (Hensel) of 51 years and will be remembered by his sisters, Lois (Armor), Lucille (Lutz), their descendants and many close friends. Ed was a resident of Ben Avon where he lived with his wife, Janice for almost 50 years. In his earlier years he was a horseback rider, a scuba diver and a water skier, he was a successful car and boat salesman, winning many trips for he and his wife to travel abroad. Ed was a known boatman; he joined the Oakmont Yacht club on his 21st birthday, worked at the Fox Chapel Marina for 18 years and was the proud owner of C&E Marina for 50 years. He helped to establish the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta in 1978. Ed was an Army veteran, a Freemason of PA for 42 years, a member of the Scottish Rite and the Shriners where he rode his motorcycle in the Shriner's Annual parade. Ed and Jan were Patrons to the Arts and enjoyed many seasons at the Pittsburgh Opera. They were also patrons to the Pittsburgh Aviary and Animal Friends. Ed and Jan hosted amazing Christmas parties at their beautiful home and held many memorable gatherings and events at C&E Marina. Ed was known for his quick wit, liked to tell stories and often said that he lived a “full life”. A memorial and celebration of Edward's life will be held in the future.
