
GENERALOVICH BORIS Tuesday evening, February 16, 2016, our beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle was peacefully welcomed by God into his eternal home. Boris was born on October 21, 1918, in Farrell, PA. He was the son of Toma and Magdalena Generalovich, who came from Serbia to the United States in 1912. Boris graduated from Hickory High School in Hermitage, PA. His passion and determination to be educated was interrupted by World War II, and after attending four different universities, Boris completed his BS degree at the University of Pittsburgh in 1947. One of the Greatest Generation Boris was a World War II veteran who proudly served his country in the US Army in Guam and was awarded several ribbons, medals, and a Bronze Service Star. Boris worked for over 35 years for Kaufmann's as a buyer for the downtown Pittsburgh department store. At Kaufmann's, Boris met his wife of 50 years, the former Margaret Dolan of Pittsburgh. Boris devoted his life to his family and served God faithfully as a member of the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, Pittsburgh, PA, where he served on the board. He believed with all his heart of the importance of upholding the traditions and values of his family and of his Serbian heritage. Boris was an avid sports fan, an ardent supporter of the Pittsburgh professional sports teams, the Pittsburgh Panthers, and the athletic endeavors of members of his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; and brothers, Bronko, Alex, and Milosh. Boris is survived and will be greatly missed by his two sisters, Bertha Hopkins of Hendersonville, NC and Nadine Kramerich (George) of Cleveland, Ohio; his beloved and devoted son, Dr.Thomas (Nancy) of Pittsburgh; stepson, John Schirra (Eleanor) of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, Matthew Generalovich (Samantha), Pittsburgh, Mark Generalovich, Charlotte, NC, Natalie Generalovich, Trabuco Canyon, CA, John Eric (Stephanie) Schirra, Valencia, CA, Alexandra (Rob) Pyfer, Scottsdale, AZ; great- grandchildren, Easton and Miles Schirra, Skyla Pyfer and Olivia and Sophia Olson. Boris is also survived by nephews and nieces, Dr. Brian Generalovich (Rosemary), Nick (Rhee) Generalovich, Bunny Lener, Mark (Suzi) Generalovich, Kerry (Larry) Paoletta, Tami (Dave) Harnish, Steve (Deb) Hopkins, George, Leslie and Mandy Kramerich, Michael Kovacs, Dr. Pamela (Jack Repko) Kovacs, Carole Bell, Bill (Joy) and David (Judy) Weber, Judy Antonelli, Bobbie (Larry) Brady; and many great- nephews and nieces. Friends will be received at the JOHN F.
