VERNER LOIS BRENNEN Age 93, of Ligonier, died Saturday, April 28, 2018, at her home assisted by the love and prayers of her four sons. She was born October 26, 1924, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Lewis and Mary Dornberger Brennen. Lois graduated from Schenly High School in 1942. She served in a munitions factory during World War II and later worked as a secretary for a Pittsburgh area engineering firm before starting her family. Lois married her high school sweetheart, Samuel Webb Verner, at Heinz Chapel in Pittsburgh in 1954. Samuel and Lois made Ligonier their home since 1994 and worshipped at the Heritage United Methodist Church. She enjoyed serving the needs of the community at Ligonier Valley Meals on Wheels, the Helping Hands Ministry and volunteering at the Bethlen Home. Lois served as the judge of elections through many election cycles. Her legacy of service and joy will continue for many generations. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Samuel Webb Verner who died in 2015; a sister, Dorothy Bruner; and a great- grandson, Evan Campbell. Lois is survived by four sons: Samuel Webb Verner, Jr. and Paul Lewis Verner, both of Ligonier, Daniel Edward (Jane Ann) Verner of Derwood, MD, and James Brennen (Liliana) Verner of Franklin Park, PA; ten grandchildren: Amy (Greg) Campbell, Joshua (Taylor) Verner, Scott, Emily, Sarah, Kate, Nathan, Joseph and Meredith Verner and Dana (Patrick) Cooper; and six great- grandchildren: Cara and Abigail Campbell, Ella, Alexander, and Valerie Verner, and Noah Cooper. Family and friends will gather Tuesday from 5-8:00 p.m. at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL CHAPEL, INC., 144 East Main Street, Ligonier. McCABE MARIANNE (JABLONSKI) Count your many blessings, stitch them one by one. Marianne McCabe (Jablonski, formerly Kelly), formerly of Findleyville and the North Hills, was peacefully reunited with her beloved husband, Jay McCabe, on April 28, 2018. Marianne lived a life full of blessings that she masterfully stitched together. A creative soul, she spent the last years of her life mastering the craft of quilting. It was through quilting that she brought together the things she did throughout her life. Marianne always strove to make those around her feel loved. She worked to bring people together and to help them find joy in themselves and those around them. She was the thread that brought together the pieces of her quilt- the people she knew and loved. Marianne is survived by her four children, Jacqueline Kelly (Daniel McHale), William Matt (Susan), Judy Acheson (Joe Cummings), Ryan (Michele); her nine beloved grandchildren, Liam and Fiona McHale, Arianna Kelly, Clayton and Poppy Acheson, Allie Cummings, Evan, Grant, and Logan Kelly will forever be warmed by her memory and will live a life enriched by the lessons of compassion that she taught them. Marianne is also survived by her beloved sisters, Patricia Marsico (Sal) and Judy Hunt (Steve), both of whom brought much joy to her life; her cousin, Pat Jablonski; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
