HEGLAND DONALD CARL Age 60, of Mt. Washington, formerly of Irwin. Passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 26, 2018, after his long, courageous battle against multiple myeloma. He was a devoted husband to his wife and soulmate, Chris (Krivanek). In 1975, Donald joined the United States Marine Corps where he served as a combat engineer until 1979 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He was a truck driver and also a member of Teamsters Local 249. He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Jennifer Wilson; and his sisters, Brenda (John) Heckman, Callie (Bob) Utzman. Don was preceded in death by his sister, Lori Hegland. He was the son of the late Mary Davis Firlik. Donald is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends. A special thank you to the Staff at Hillman Cancer Center. ANTONUCCI DOROTHY M. Age 77, of Murrysville, formerly of Penn Hills, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018. She was born October 15, 1940, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late John F. and Eleanor E. Kaminski Faas. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph A. Antonucci, Jr. in 2006; a son, Michael Antonucci in 2003; and a brother, Jack Faas. Dorothy was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates Fan and loved to watch Jeopardy. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She is survived by three daughters, Patty (Joe) Silich of Murrysville, Paula (Dave) Debaker of Pittsburgh, and Michelle (Scott) Mastay of Harrison City; a son, Joseph (Ony) Antonucci of New York; a sister, Kathy Matthews; and a brother, Paul Faas; nine grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. FISHER MARY DUVALL Mary was born in East Pittsburgh on March 6, 1910, and died on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at the age of 108. For the past 11 years, Mary was a resident of Seneca Manor in Penn Hills. Mary had attended Emmanuel Lutheran Church in East Pittsburgh her entire life until the church closing in 1998. She loved music and for many years was the organist for the Emmanuel Lutheran congregation. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Gustov Fisher and the sister of the late Clara Bond. She is survived by her cousin and caregiver, Louise Cramer of Level Green. Friends are welcome on Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at PATRICK T. SORCE ISABELLA (JACONETTA) On Sunday, May 27, 2018, age 96. Beloved wife of the late Fred L. Sorce; cherished mother of Fred A. (Janet) and Richard L. Sorce; grandmother of Denise Mistick (Michael), Deborah Lackovic (John), and Brian Sorce (Angela); great- grandmother of Carly and Amber Mistick; Olivia, Savannah and Grace Lackovic; and Rebecca and Samantha Sorce; sister of Rudy Jaconetta (Mary), and the late Norma Vergona (the late Anthony); aunt to Susan Caban (David), Patricia Groening (Christopher), James Jaconetta, Sara Cappetta, and the late Debbie and Anthony Vergona. Also dear cousin of the late Yolanda Palermo. Isabella was the traditional stay at home mother. Her first and only priority was to her husband and her two sons. She was fond of classical music, especially the composers, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Johann Strauss, and Giacomo Puccini. Also, the three tenors, Placido Domingo, Jose Carraras, and Luciano Pavirotti. Her favorite aria was Nessun Dorma. She was also fond of the music of the big band era, especially Glenn Miller. Her favorite song of that time was "I'll Be Seeing You" because it reminded her of her husband whom she married on November 29, 1943 and was in the European theatre during World War II. SHIPLEY SCOTT ALLAN “THE ALL AMERICAN” Age 44, of Mon Valley, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Beloved fiancé of Aimee Onisko, who was born on the same day, took their first breaths together and shared in his last breath; devoted father of Bryson Shipley; loving son of Mark Shipley and the late Janet (Woteska) Shipley; stepson of Joyce Glessner; brother of Kelli Zawart and Dana Crosby; uncle of Cameron Horning, Jade Crosby, and Xander, Mallory, Cassadi and Meadow Zawart; nephew of Diana Shipley and late Steve Shipley and Kim Shipley; and second son of Sherryl Wall. Scott was an athlete, competing as #9 in all his activities. He played deck hockey from a young age and participated in Toughman Boxing. He competed in two professional boxing events and was in the first match held at Heinz Field. Scott was very patriotic and was known best as "All American" by the boxing community. He had a big heart, welcomed everyone into his life and stood up for the underdog. He was full of love and shared it with his family, especially his son, Bryson. Scott will be truly missed. His motto was to take out the garbage, lock all the doors, make sure all the lights were out and tapped on the table. He was a proud WWII U.S. Army Veteran and had a strong work ethic. He retired from the Wilkins Twp. Road Dept., had formerly worked at the Westinghouse Airbrake in Wilmerding and was a former bartender at the Italian American Citizens Club in Wilkins Twp. His family was most important to him. A son of the late Carmine “Nooch” and Carmella “Carrie” Cortazzo; beloved husband of 68 years of Elizabeth “Liz” (Madonna) Cortazzo; dear father of Nicholas J. “Nick” (late Cissy) Cortazzo, Jr., Michael J. Cortazzo (Lisa Powell), and Lisa A. Mrs. Borchick was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family along with bowling, playing bingo and trips to the casino. SCHNELZER RONALD W. Age 85, of Harrisville, passed away peacefully, May 27, 2018, at the VNA Hospice house in Butler. Ronald was born May 6, 1933, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Louis and Anna Schnelzer. Ronald enlisted in the United States Army April 6, 1955, and was honorably discharged April 4, 1958. Ronald also served in the Army Reserve. While serving overseas in Austria, Ron met his wife "Trudy" and the two wed June 16, 1956. Gertrude "Trudy" Plank Schnelzer passed away April 19, 1990. Together the couple had seven children. Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his children, Jeannie Lanzilatti of Harrisville, Tom Schnelzer and his wife, Pam of Grove City, Paul Schnelzer of Pittsburgh, Cathy Stewart and Kim of Mercer and Sandy Chesmire and her husband, Mike of Georgia. Ronald is also survived by numerous grand and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife and two sons, Michael F. and Ronald E. Schnelzer; three sisters and three brothers.
