BAUMILLER JOSHUA S. Age 35, of McMurray, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, with his family and friends by his side on April 22, 2018. Josh was the beloved son of Linda and Mark Baumiller; loving brother of Jacob (Kelly Swindell) Baumiller and Grace Baumiller. LEUENBERGER ROBERT H. Age 87, of Gibsonia, formerly of Shaler, on April 25, 2018. Bob was born in Pittsburgh, the son of Hans R. and Marie L. Leuenberger. He was raised in Garfield and graduated from Peabody High School. Bob was the husband of Deanie Murray Caputo Leuenberger and the late Margaret "Peggy" Hart Leuenberger. He was the father of RJ (Kaye) Leuenberger, Jim (Pam) Leuenberger, and Beth (J) Mahood. He had one brother, John (Deanna) Leuenberger. Bob was the proud grandfather of Bob Leuenberger, Marie (Eric) Sassman, Andy (Rachael) Leuenberger, Josiah (Brittany) Leuenberger, Sam Leuenberger, Grace Leuenberger, and Matthew Mahood. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Evan, Fiona, Ethan, Evelyn, James, and Peter. A U.S. Marine veteran, Bob was the longtime owner of H.R. Leuenberger, Inc., an ornamental iron & structural steel company, founded by his father during the depression years and later owned and operated by his oldest son, RJ. All three men strove to run the business with the utmost integrity and to produce the highest quality products. He was a longtime member of Bloomfield U.M. Church and more recently a member of Bakerstown U.M. Church. Robert was active with the Swiss American Society of Pittsburgh, the North Side Rotary Club, was a 60-year member of Perry Ionic Lodge 796 F&AM, the Royal Order of Jesters, and American Legion 548. He was a Boy Scout leader and Little League coach while raising his children. He enjoyed walking, especially with his beloved dog, Heidi, whom he fondly referred to as, My Fine Animal! Bob loved to drive and travel and was passionate about sports cars, owning a Porsche and Corvette over the years. He was a generous man throughout his life, helping countless friends, colleagues, and strangers. Above everything, he loved being with his family and grandchildren and will be dearly missed by them. OLPERE DANIEL P. Age 66, of Montgomery Township, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of 39 years to Diane (Beighey). Born on July 13, 1951, in Pittsburgh and grew up in Oakmont, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Edna (nee Phillips) Olpere. Dan attended Penn State University, earning a Bachelor's in Community Development and his Master's in Public Administration. He was a life member of the Penn State University Alumni Association and loved Penn State football. Dan had a long, successful career in local government for over 40 years. He was fully committed and dedicated to providing excellent service to the communities he served. From 1979 to 1999, he served as first manager of Montgomery Township, during which the township population quadrupled. Dan had also managed the boroughs of Lemoyne and Perkasie, as well as Lower Providence Township and Upper Macungie Township. He retired from Upper Macungie Township on September 30, 2017. He consulted for a number of municipalities through his company, Local Government Management Services, LLC and taught as an adjunct professor in the Masters of Public Administration program at Villanova University. Dan was well-known and highly regarded in local government. He was a member of the International City Managers Association (ICMA), Association for Pennsylvania Municipal Management (APMM), and American Planning Association (APA). Dan also served as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Norristown (PA) Katherine Gibbs School. He was also a longtime member of Sanctuary United Methodist Church. Dan's work ethic was second-to-none, but in his free time, he enjoyed tackling various household projects, working outside, watching Penn State football, and exposing his children to his favorite classic rock music. He was immensely proud of his three daughters and had a special bond with his two granddaughters. Along with his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Lindsey (David) Kriegel, Kelsey (Nicholas) Nocero, and Tracey (Joseph) Stassi; brother, David (Margaret) Olpere; and granddaughters, Madeline and Stella. He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna (Brian) Miller; and parents, Nicholas and Edna Olpere. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 29, 2018, from 4:30 - 8 p.m. at HUFF & LAKJER FUNERAL HOME, 701 Derstine Avenue, Lansdale, PA. BUCHERT JANET RUTH (LAUTNER) Age 79, of Coraopolis, formerly of Carrick, was taken to Heaven on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, from her earthly home. Born on March 28, 1939, in Pittsburgh, she was one of three to the late Lawrence and Marie Suzanne (Muller) Lautner. Working different shifts, it was by chance that Janet met her husband, George, at the Federal Reserve, was invited to a romantic coffee date, and then was married on October 15, 1960. On May 4, 2007, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Buchert, a security guard at the Federal Reserve. They have three cherished sons, Mike, Jim, and Tom; one loving granddaughter, McKenna; and sister, Barbara (the late Bob) Grace; and brother, Larry (Robin) Lautner. Janet was a graduate of Carrick High School and a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Emsworth where she would volunteer for anything and everything. When asked, Janet would say, I had a great life. Janet's life was loving her family and spoiling her granddaughter as well as helping others. She devoted her time to the caregiving of her husband's elder parents while getting her teenage boys off to school and watching her 5-year-old son. She could balance life, did it with grace, and a happy heart. She was the nicest, kindest person you would ever meet. HAUSER RICHARD A. DICK Age 89, a resident of Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018. He was born December 14, 1928, in Irwin, the son of the late Adam and Helen (Lunn) Hauser and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Recktenwald. He was a retired systems analyst for Westinghouse, Monroeville. He attended Level Green Presbyterian Church where he sang in the church choir and was also active in several choral groups including the Irwin Male Chorus, and the Westmoreland Choral Society. He was an animal lover and an active vegetable gardener, especially tomatoes. Surviving is his wife, Helen L. (Baughman) Hauser; and a sister, Ruth (Richard) Poth of Irwin. Special thanks to dear friends Rick, Janet, Trevor, and Devon Recktenwald for all the love and support. At the family's request, there will be no viewing. WROBEL CHESTER A. On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, age 80, of West Homestead. Chester was born in Hays, PA, the son of the late Chester T. and Mary (Vecchio) Wrobel. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to the love of his life, Mary Jean (Harpish) Wrobel; loving father of Dale (Anais) Wrobel, Mary Kay (David) Baker, and Kim (Tom) Smith; cherished grandfather to Brian, Denise, Holly, Calen, Carlie, Natasha, and Gareth; special great- grandfather to Cadence, Kylie, Carson, McKenna, Alana, Henry, and Violet. Chester was raised in West Homestead and graduated from Homestead H.S. in 1955 and enlisted into the U.S. Navy the same year. In 1964, he joined the West Homestead Police Dept. as a patrolman; in 1969, he was promoted to Lieutenant; in 1974, he was promoted to Captain; and finally in 1978, he was promoted to Chief and served in that position till his retirement in August of 1999. Upon his retirement, he went to work in the Allegheny County District Attorney's office as an Investigator for D.A. Stephen Zappala. He served as a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #91 for over 50 years serving as a Delegate, Board of Directors, Recording Secretary, and the Office of Parliamentarian for the PA State F.O.P. Chester was also a member of the Western Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association where he served as Treasurer, 3rd Vice President in 1990, President in 1991, and Treasurer from 1999 to 2002. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the Forbes Hospital Hospice staff and all the nurses on the 5 South B Team for their wonderful care. DaPRA GILIO JOHN Age 92, of Peters Township, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Theresa DaPra for 66 years; loving father of Diane (Jeffrey) Pierrard, Annette (Bobby) Lewis, Dennis (Lisa) DaPra, the late Carla Morasca and Daniel DaPra; proud grandfather of Jenna, Emily, RJ, Chelsey, Luca, Amber, Gabriella (Leo) Gigliotti; loving son of the late Tiziano and Carolina DaPra; dear brother of Valentino, Moses and the late Mario DaPra; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. John was a proud WWII veteran, a member of Italian American War Veterans, Peters Township, VFW Post 764, American Legion Post 944, and a life member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a founding member of Peters Township High School Football Quarterback Club, a past President of Peters Township Recreation Board, a member of The Society of Plastic Engineers, President of Ducor-Products Corp., a former board member of The Allegheny Club, Pittsburgh, and managed in Peters Township recreational baseball for many years. John was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins. He enjoyed spending time bowling and golfing. John was happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends, especially his grandchildren. The DaPra family would like to thank the staff at McMurray Hills Manor for their support and care.
